This $1,000,000 window replacement project involved the coordination of approximately 500 new, energy-efficient and low-maintenance replacement windows for the Main Classroom Building at Laurel School. Cornerstone Architecture’s role in the project included the documentation of each window type, the preparation of bid documents, negotiation with bidders, and the provision of on-site construction observation and administration. The primary challenge for this effort was that the work needed to be completed within a 6-week time slot during the school’s summer break – requiring focused project management services. By working closely with the Owner and the Contractor, Cornerstone Architecture was able to ensure that the window installations matched the unusual existing details and interior finishes of this grand historic structure. The project was completed on time and 5% below budget.
