Laurel School hired Cornerstone Architecture to design a new pre-kindergarten classroom in the form of a yurt, nestled in the woods of their Butler Campus. This multi-purpose teaching space facilitates many different types of learning for the children giving them opportunities to engage with the natural surroundings as a part of their learning journey. It is equipped with state of the art technology for teaching, restroom facilities, and natural ventilation for summer use. Taking advantage of the natural firewood resource, a wood burning stove provides warmth during the winter months. The inviting, yet rustic space is another example of how Cornerstone Architecture can leverage its diverse architectural experiences to create something unique while fitting perfectly into the surrounding environment.
